Close your eyes just for a moment and think about what this world would be like without the dreamers. Where would we be without the ones who dare to think big and then actually go out and make their visions a reality? How flat and stale it would be. So why is it that so many dreams never see the light of day? Why is it that so many dreamers never let themselves live those dreams?
Here’s a question for you: If you were handed one billion dollars right now, with no strings attached, what would you do? If you knew without doubt that you would never have to worry about finances ever again; that you would never have to work another day in your life; that you could do absolutely anything you wanted to… what would you do with your time? What would you choose to do, if you didn’t have to do anything? For a lot of people, the answer is “I don’t know.” And this is a sad, sad thing. Why is it that so many of us have no idea what we want to do anymore? Why is it that so many of us have lost touch with our dreams, the very things which make us who we are and which light that incandescent spark within that is completely and uniquely ours?
The world needs dreamers like you
In an ideal world, the answer to the billion dollar question above would be that you would continue to do exactly what you’re doing right now. And if that’s not what you answered, then you’re not doing what you really want to do, and you’re not doing what you’re really meant to do. You’re not living your dream. And yes, that’s a bad thing.
Why? Because the world needs dreamers; more specifically it needs dreamers who are prepared to go out and create their dreams; dreamers who go forth a manifest their visions into reality; dreamers who see what could be and do what needs to be done in order to make it so. Dreamers like you, with dreams like yours.
You are here to live your dreams
No two dreamers are alike, just as no two dreams are alike. Even if you want the same thing as someone else, you will have your own way of getting there, and you will put your own distinctive stamp on it. If you want to write a book about dog training, it will be different than anybody else’s book about dog training, because no one will approach it in the same way that you will. If you want to open your own dance school, it will be different than anybody else’s dance school, because your exact method, energy and philosophy will be different than anyone else’s. If you want to help other people improve their lives, you’ll do it differently than anyone else because your background, your experience and your unique ability when it comes to coaching or teaching will be different than anyone else’s. Dreams are like snowflakes; incredibly beautiful and completely unique. Just like you.
And this is why your dreams are so important and why dreamers like you are so important. Because you are the only one who can bring your dream into this world. And what’s more – that’s why you’re here! You are here to dream your dreams and then create them! You are here to let your own extraordinary light shine. To inspire others to do the same. To live your dream. To love your life and all that are a part of it.
Dreams are the source that powers the world
We’ve become so caught up in doing all the things we thing we should do, that we’ve lost sight of what we want to do. We’ve been taught that our dreams and desires are selfish; that they’re irresponsible; that they’re childish fantasies that we need to put aside, because they have no place in “the real world.” But we are the ones who create the real world, and it is our dreams that power it. If we want to change the world that change begins with a dream; every great idea, every innovation, every scientific advance, every artistic triumph… all began as someone’s dream.
And what’s more, all of those dreams had ripple effects that reached out and touched other dreamers who created new dreams of their own. You have no way of knowing how your dream might inspire or shape the course of someone else’s, or what wonderful things could come down the road, based on what you built with your dream. But anytime any one of us has the courage to become, we wordlessly encourage others to do the same. And in this becoming, we are creating the world we want for ourselves and our children and our children’s children. All through our dreams. And all because of dreamers like you.
