Give A Little Love for Motivational MondayIn last Friday’s podcast episode I talked about how our thoughts affect our actions and our lives, and how our thoughts themselves are affected by the people we keep company with. But what’s also really important to keep in mind is the reverse: how our own attitudes and actions can also affect all the people around us. We are all connected, and all of our actions send out ripples through this energy network. And I think it’s really important sometimes to take a step back and ask ourselves what kind of ripples we are sending out there over the course of our days, and what the consequences of those ripples could be. And if the answer we come up with when we ask ourselves this question isn’t what we’d really like it to be, then perhaps it’s time to concentrate on how we can give a little love to those around us.

Every action of our lives touches on some chord that will vibrate in eternity. ~ Edwin Hubbel Chapin

It’s not something that’s particularly hard or time consuming. It can be something as easy as holding the door open for someone as you enter or exit a building, or helping a mother get a stroller down the steps of a bus. Believe it or not, something as small as smile and a “hello” or “have a nice day” can actually be life-changing for some people. Take a plastic bag with you and pick up some garbage when you go for a walk in your neighbourhood. Help a neighbour shovel their driveway or rake their lawn, or help a child mend a broken toy. Little things can have a big impact. And what’s more, you never know who’s watching you do these things or how it might inspire them to do something nice for someone else. Ripple effects – you can never know how far they extend or how many people might be touched by a simple kind gesture, so choose to give a little love today. Who knows? Maybe if enough of us give it a little love, it really will change the world in a big way. And that’s what today’s Motivational Monday video is all about…

What you share with the world is what it keeps of you.

Kindness. Pass it on…
