How to Create a Personal Advisory Board - Pinterest pinIn today’s podcast episode we’re talking about a simple, four-step process for creating a personal advisory board of handpicked experts to help you along in your dream-building endeavours, because when you start working on your dreams, you’re going to run into snags. There will be bumps in the road and there will be unforeseen detours and roadblocks.  And sometimes, you may start to wonder if it’s ever going to happen at all.

When you hit these rough patches, what you will probably want most is someone you can talk to – someone who’s been there and has more experience with this than you do who can talk you through it and help you get yourself back on track.

Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Wouldn’t it be great to have a mentor like that? But what if you don’t know anyone who has done what you want to do? What if there isn’t anyone you know who can act as a sounding board for you or help you through your difficulties?

That’s where your personal advisory board – or, as I like to call it, your Awesomeness Advisory Board – comes in. Your board is your personal group of mentors whom you can call on at any time of day or night, 365 days a year, for advice, pep talks, strategy sessions, and even for much-needed kicks-in-the-pants when you know you’re slacking off too much.

They are the five people – real, fictional, alive, or long passed – who embody all the characteristics and traits that you admire most and think you need in order to build your biggest dreams. They are your team, and they are dedicated to helping you make things happen. Whenever you need to talk to them, they are there in your mind; instantly available to advise you with their collective wisdom.

Because they are imaginary, your personal advisory board members are really just a part of you – they’re a manifestation of your own wisdom and intuition. They’re really just a means of tapping into your own inner guidance. But they’re a heck of a fun way to do it!
