Being in a motivational slump can be completely exhausting; it can leave you drained and down, and feeling like there’s really something wrong with you when you can’t even muster the motivation to get even the easiest of your “to-do” tasks done. What’s worse, it can really affect your long-term desire to continue taking those all-important action steps that are necessary for achieving your goal. Let’s face it: it’s hard to stay inspired when your get-up-and-go seems to have got up and left! Fortunately there are a number of motivational strategies for dumping the slump and getting you back on track.

I’ve mentioned before that motivation is cyclical – it has its natural ups and downs and that’s to be expected. But when you’re really feeling the need to get your mojo back, it helps to take direct steps to haul yourself out of the slump. Most of all, remember that “this too shall pass” – motivational slumps are just bumps on the road to making your dream a reality, so don’t give up on the things you really want for yourself because of these temporary setbacks.
