excercise

Finding the time and motivation to exercise is tough. The key is to sneak it into your day!

Like many people, one of my big goals for this year is to increase my fitness level.  For me, it’s not about weight-loss, it’s about increasing flexibility, muscle tone, strength and energy levels. (That last one is particularly important… when you have two small kids and a business to run, you gotta be able to keep up!)

The problem I’ve been having with this whole exercise thing is finding the time to exercise, and figuring out how to keep up my motivation to keep going. Again, when you’ve got a business and children (and for some crazy reason, you decide to start a new Law of Attraction blog, too), time really does become something of an issue. And when you live in the Great White North and it’s the middle of winter and there’s 4 feet of snow outside and it’s -20, finding the motivation to exercise can be hard.

All of which are excuses, I know. But still.

The key, I’ve discovered, is finding ways to sneak some exercise into my day without my brain being aware of it, because what it’s not immediately aware of, it can’t complain about… 😉  And one of the ways I’ve found to do this is to play happy, upbeat music that makes me want to dance. And dancing around while I’m sweeping crumbs off my floor (yet again) or picking up the thousand and one mega blocks, puzzle pieces and crayons strewn around my living room, not only adds some of that much-needed exercise to my day, it also manages to circumvent the irritation that comes with having to do all those other never ending household chores that inevitably seem to fall to me. So really, I’m multi-tasking with this playlist, so it’s all good.

So without further ado, here is my first Weekend Playlist post, featuring ten of my favourite get-up-and-dance tunes. The track list is below and you can just click the video link to play the whole list on YouTube and listen for yourself!
