This was great and I really needed to hear it. Say we discovered a fear in what we are wanting. Like, we want to be a teacher but are afraid that we won’t know all the material we must know to be out there teaching and such, or something along those lines. I know it sounds crazy but so are most fears. they are not based on logic, just that part of us that goes against our guidance system and gives us a hard time with stuff, the one I think the concept of the devil is based on. I guess soothing our fears is the way to go like we discussed before.
Perfectionism. It’s one of the biggest dream killers out there. So many people hold themselves back because they’re afraid they’re not good enough — they compare themselves to people who have been doing for years what they most want to do themselves, and seeing how good those others are at it, they know they can’t do it as well so they don’t even bother trying. But the thing they missed was the “YET”; they won’t be able to do it that well YET. You can’t compare your chapter 2 to someone else’s chapter 20… every expert out there started off as a beginner, but that fact is something so many forget when they give up on a dream because they’re afraid they won’t be able to pull it off. The truth is, you won’t know it all at the beginning; no one does. But you’ll learn as you go. Give yourself permission to be a beginner. Give yourself permission to make mistakes. Everything is a process.
To quote Harry Potter: “Every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than what we are now, students. If they can do it, why not us?”
