If you read my previous article on money and the Law of Attraction, then you’ll already be familiar with the idea that money is just another form of energy, and that the way we feel about money affects how much of it we have in our lives. To be more specific, the way we feel about money affects how much of it we allow ourselves to have. Consciously or unconsciously, the energy that we send out into the Universe is what comes back into our lives. So if we’re stressed out about our financial situations and always focused on our lack of money, then guess what we continue to manifest? That’s right, more and more lack of money.
So, in order to have more money in our lives, we have to change the vibrations we send out about money, which means we have to change the way we think about it and the way we feel about it. This means we need to let go of our negative beliefs surrounding the idea of money, including any negative views we might have about those who already have lots of it; it means starting to view money as a good, positive thing, and starting to think about it with joy, excitement and appreciation, rather than fear and resentment.
Which is all well and good in theory, but just how, exactly, are we supposed to do that?
How to shift your money vibe with three simple strategies
If you’re wondering how to shift your money vibe, here are three strategies that you can adopt right now that will help you to shift the energy that you have been unconsciously sending out into the Universe, energy that has been making a mess of your financial life!
Strategy one: Change your focus.
Rather than stressing out over all the instances where you’re short on cash or fear you will be, start noticing and appreciating the abundance you already have in your life. This may seem a little counterintuitive if you’re convinced you have none. But it is critically important that you understand that when you focus on lack anywhere in your life and, more specifically, on the feelings associated with lack, the Universe must bring you more lack. You get what you give out; this is why it’s called the Law of Attraction!
So sit down and make a list of everywhere in your life that you have money, and make it a point to really feel appreciation for that money. If your bank account is in the black, then you have money, even if it is only $20… put it on your list and really appreciate every cent of that $20 dollars. If you found a nickel on the street, pick it up and take a moment to appreciate it (free money, woo-hoo!) Focus on feeling happy about it and feeling gratitude for it. The amount you have is irrelevant; just feel joy and appreciation associated with whatever amounts you have.
Strategy 2: Make it easy.
Most of us have been conditioned since birth to believe that getting money is difficult. We believe that we have to work really hard in order to get any, and that even if we do manage to scrounge some together, it’s next to impossible to hold on to because something always happens to drain it away again. And because that is what we believe, that is, of course, what happens.
But what if we started to change those ingrained thought patterns and started to think that money was easy to get? What if we started to believe that money was fun instead of stressful? What a radical idea!
Here’s what I want you to do: For the next three days, I want you to really pay attention to your money thoughts. Whenever a bill comes in, or you get paid, or you find a penny in the street – any time you think about money in any way shape or form, I want you to notice what you’re thinking. If your thoughts are negative, or if you find yourself getting that sinking, sick feeling in your stomach, I want you to STOP. Consciously stop yourself, and then say: “It is SO easy for me to get money!” (If you feel too self-conscious saying it out loud, then say it under your breath or just think it in your head, but put some feeling behind it! I want you to believe and feel, even if it’s only for a moment that money is easy to get!)
Step 3: Figure out what it’s really about, and then feel it now.
I must sound like a broken record by now, but I’ll say it again because it’s so freaking important: it’s not about the money! Again, money is only a means to an end. It’s not really the money we’re after it’s what we think the money can get us. Figure out why you want money. Is it because you think money will make you feel secure or safe? Is it because you think having money will allow you to have more fun? Is it because you think having money will make you irresistible to the opposite sex? Is it because you think money will make you powerful? Figure out what underlying reason for why you want more money.
Once you’ve got your reason, focus on the feelings you’ve associated to that reason, and then find ways to feel that same way right now. For example, if you think money will allow you to have more fun, then do things that are fun now! Dance around your living room, chat with a friend, or watch a funny movie. Remember that what you send out is what you get back, so the more “fun energy” that you are sending out into the Universe, the more fun it has to bring you, and the more likely you are to manifest that money you wanted. Because the Universe must line up more of what matches that vibration you are sending out, including the money that you equate with fun energy.
If you want to know how to shift your money vibe, it really is the same as shifting your vibe in any other area of your life. In a nutshell, what you get is what you give. Change what you are giving (i.e. start to send out positive energy and feelings rather than the negative energy and feelings you currently associate with money) and you will automatically change what you are getting (i.e. you’ll start to notice more abundance in your life, rather than your previous lack).
I love this, Nathalie!
